Frequently asked questions
Yes! It will help us consolidate your results across our participating events because we will not add the results of all participants across all six events to this site. We will only add registered SITG participants to the honour roll published on this site.
Ideally, you must register here before participating in your first event.
No, there is no additional payment for SITG. You will have to register and pay separately to participate in our events.
Do you love trail running? Then we believe that you will get far more joy and thrills by getting varied experiences across our circuit of six events. Our events are spread across South India and will therefore provide you a diverse experience -- culture, food, people, scenery, sights n sounds. It is often said that India is a country of several hundred rolled into one. Here is a roadmap for you to experience all of this while doing what you love to do - run trails!
Yes, you can consider this as a slam, series or a challenge because you have to complete a circuit of trail running events across South India. However, this should not be viewed as a competition because there are no leaderboards or winners/losers. The South India Trail Grail is envisioned as an effort by trail ultra events in the Western and Eastern Ghats to expand the horizons for runners and provide them with a multitude of experiences in South India's beautiful mountains.
No! There are no prizes because this is not a competition. Think of this as a long-term challenge over two years to give you a glimpse of the diversity and beauty of South India.
While we will publish and maintain a list of runners who have completed events in this circuit, there will be no ranking. We will display a list of male and female runners in alphabetical order and show the events that they have completed.
The best way to think about this is that it is a roll of honour and meant to just give you a sense of accomplishment.
No, you don't have to do anything. The organisers of the six events are collaborating closely and will ensure that your results are compiled on this site. You will have to ensure that you have provided the correct ITRA ID when you register for each event because we will consolidate results on your ITRA ID.
The International Trail Running Association (ITRA) provides a unique ID for all runners who enter ITRA affiliated events. You will automatically get an ITRA ID when you complete one of our six events when the results are published to ITRA.
If you are not sure whether you already have an ITRA ID, you can search on the ITRA web site. Since the ITRA ID is unique, it is good to ensure that you do not create a duplicate ID for yourself.
You can obtain an ITRA ID by registering on the web site at no cost.
No, there is no discount offered. You will have to register and complete each event independently and we will consolidate results in the background.
We have events from five different states of South India - Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. Yes, we do consider Maharashtra to be in the south 😀
You must complete the circuit (any four out of six events) over two seasons. We use the term season instead of year, because some of our events (especially Vagamon ULtrail) spill into January of the following year.
To make it easy, you can think of completing this circuit between November 2025 and January 2027 based on current event dates.
Nothing really! If you have registered for SITG, your Name and ITRA ID will show on the honour roll that we publish on this site. It will also indicate that you have not completed the challenge.
